About time something that hasn't been said on the subject of mp3

picture of mp3 - Fleet Foxes news:

Fleet Foxes news: "Helplessness Blues" title track and USA/UK/Euro tour dates ...

"Helplessness Blues" by Fleet Foxes (download here)

Seattle concertgoers might remember "Helplessness Blues" from when Fleet Foxes frontman and former Lake Washington High School student* Robin Pecknold performed it solo last year, opening for Joanna Newsom at the Moore Theatre. Now we finally have an mp3 for the propulsive pop song, made available today by Sub Pop.

The local label will release Fleet Foxes' sophomore album May 3, also called "Helplessness Blues." A tour is scheduled, and will land in Seattle at the Moore the same day the album comes out (dates below).

Also notable in Sub Pop's press release, a new member of the band: Morgan Henderson, formerly of Blood Brothers and currently the bassist/guitarist/vocalist in Past Lives, one of Seattle's most innovative and exciting rock groups. Last time I interviewed Henderson, he had just come from recording sounds of waves lapping the shore.

At long last something good to know about ticketmaster

photo of ticketmaster - Magician prefers AC sand over Vegas desert sand Magician prefers AC sand over Vegas desert sand

"I've been doing this for 33 years and because I came out of the comedy clubs I'm constantly writing material, so I've got hours and hours of material I can use, depending on the audience," he explains.

When there aren't kids in the house, Kozak will venture into mature territory, but only after he gets the blessings to get a little risque from the audience.

"I'm kind of old school about that," says the former Navy cryptographer, who also is an accomplished artist and plays a pretty mean cello.

Kozak, who picked up magic from reading a book while on guard duty in the Navy, began his career working comedy clubs in Pittsburgh with a couple of other up-and-coming young funnymen. They were Dennis Miller, who has done rather well for himself, and Michael Keaton, who turned out to be a much better actor than he did a stand-up.

"I've got sand in my shoes," he says, making it clear he prefers the beach sand of the Jersey Shore to the desert sand of Nevada.
